Jayden Struble Traded to Nashville Predators

The Nashville Predators acquired defenseman Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens on Friday in exchange for a 2027 second-round draft pick. This move follows Nashville’s recent addition of William Trudeau, another defenseman from Montreal, off waivers earlier in the week. Struble, who is 25 years old, adds more depth to the Predators’ defensive lineup.
Struble was originally drafted by the Canadiens in the second round of the 2019 draft. During his time with Montreal, he played in 174 games, scoring seven goals and totaling 35 points. However, Struble had limited playing opportunities recently, being a healthy scratch for numerous games over the past two seasons, including Thursday’s game against the Predators.
This trade also benefits Montreal, which is looking to rebuild and enhance its future prospects. The second-round pick they received was originally owned by the Vegas Golden Knights. This gives the Canadiens additional assets for future trades and draft opportunities as they continue to strategize for long-term success.
